You had no clue why you were here. Well, that was a lie, you did. It was because of your best friend. Jisoo had begged you to come to this stupid house party with her because she wanted to meet some college guy she had been flirting with on Facebook. You were adamant that it was no to start with, but she slowly pecked away at you, guilt tripping you into coming with her.

“Please, pretty please, don’t you want me to fall in love and me happy?” She had pouted.

“Oh my god, ok I’ll go. If it makes you so damn happy.” You yelled, finally giving in.

“Yay! This is going to be great! I can’t wait for you to meet Namjoon,” she squealed.

Only, you hadn’t even met him because as soon as you arrived she had made a bee line for him and they now had disappeared somewhere.

You sighed, pressing your head back against the sofa you were on and clutched your drink. Was this what it was going to be like from now on? You, the single friend who sat at home doing homework every night, whilst Jisoo was off out with her new college boyfriend. You took a swig of your drink and winced when you felt the burn hit the back of your throat as you swallowed.

Gross. You didn’t even like drinking that much. Also, your parents would flip if they knew you were here.

Your skin suddenly started to tingle and you felt goose bumps start to form on your arms, the tell-tale signs that you were being watched. You looked up across the room and met the eyes of a guy. Usually, you would look away, embarrassed that you had just caught someone watching you - and he was watching you; watching you with such an intensity that you couldn’t break eye contact.

Shouldn’t he be the one feeling embarrassed? You mean, you had just caught him staring at you so brazenly and he still wasn’t looking away.

You took in his appearance and noticed that he had the most unusual dyed dusty pink coloured hair that fell in front of his eyes. He was dressed pretty casual in black jeans with holes in the knees and a checked shirt, open on top of a black t-shirt, but then again it was a house party. He was still looking at you, even while his friends stood around and spoke to him, nodding every now and again or murmuring simple words in agreement with them.

You raised up your lips, slightly smiling at him. You had just shared a moment, right? This was the right thing to do - acknowledge him? But he just kept on staring, raising his cup up to his lips and taking a sip.
